While the pandemic situation led to the closure of many ports all over the world, in MADEIRA we have been preparing to receive you with all the comfort and safety, also in accordance to the standards recommended by the Maritime World Health Agencies. During this difficult period, APRAM, S.A. developed a plan in technical and commercial terms, to prepare Madeira ports focusing on resumption of the cruise activity. Madeira Ports were actually the first portuguese ports to reopen to cruise ships and to designed a “Port Management Plan within the scope of Covid-19”, to be applied to ensure a new reality in the port and marinas Operations areas, including both ports of Funchal and Portos Santo, as well as in the Madeira Cruise Terminals. The implementation of this plan, required the acquisition of equipment, for the mesure of temperatire, cleaning and desinfection, and the redifinition of procedures for the flows of everyone involved in the port operation. All this procedures have earned SGS Certification for “Good Practices in SARS-CoV-2 Biological Risk Management” and, more recently, the “Clean & Safe 2021” certification from the Portuguese Tourism Board. Our priority is the safety of everyone involved.
